WHAT DOES AN EMPEROR USUALLY DO AND WHY IS HE SIGNIFICANT?
An emperor is the most significant role out of all the social classes in ancient China, as he rules all the other social classes. This is the first emperor, Qin (over on the right). He was the original one who built the Terracotta Warriors, to protect him in afterlife, as did the living warriors in reality. Notice how emperor Qin (as all emperors have), has bright colourful, beautifully patterned clothing. This is the usual daily routine of an emperor:
- From 5:00 – 7:00 AM, the emperor will wake up and most likely read.
- From 7:00 – 9:30 AM, the emperor will have breakfast.
- From 9:30 – 11:00 AM, the emperor will hold or attend meetings in court, solve problems in his (or her) dynasty and will make plans for evolution in defences, farming, taxes, etc.
- From 11:00 AM – 2:30 PM, have a break, relax and plan to solve problems in the dynasty and just travel with thoughts and then have lunch.
- From 2:30 – 5:00 PM, do fun creative things, like reading books, writing poems painting or going out with a concubine (a female servant that will usually attend things or sleep with the emperor) to an opera or a musical theater.
- From 5:00 – 9:00 PM, have dinner, host a religion mass for Buddhism and the will go to bed.
